For those of us in eastern Ontario, Canada a MAJOR WINTER STORM WARNING has
been issued area above the lower great lakes can expect between 20 and 40 cm
or 8 to 16 inches of snow with winds getting up to 90km/hr or 50 mph. Some
freezing rain is possible with this system, especially along the lower great
lakes however as you go north this should be mainly a heavy snowfall event.
This is being touted as being one of the biggest storms we've had in
sometime, even bigger than the snowfall that hit Toronto in 1999 prompting
then mayor Mel Lastman to call in the Army to help dig out.
