Subject: wither lake effect snow?
As a testimonial to the recent bout of cold weather, Lake
Superior decided over the weekend that it was time to
boldly defy El Nino and start freezing:

It has been a few years since we've seen this much ice
in the big lake -- lake effect snows will begin to wane
now that the heat and moisture exchange process gets
capped by a layer of thick ice...
