Hello,
    After having tested the accuracy of two
thermometers that recorded 0º here on January 18th
using an NWS certified sling psychrometer, I have come
to the conclusion that a seven year record low was
indeed set at 1.5º, beating the old record by 1.1
degrees, which was set in Jan. '96.
