Hello,
Despite forcasts by the NWS, the Weather Channel,a
nd local channel 17 (metro) to the tune of; lows in
the mid 30's and north winds at 5mph. to 10mph., and
colder in the normally cooler spots, the actual events
were quite different. The low temp. was 39º with wind
near 15mph. all night, here in Baiting Hollow.
Together with gusts as high a 23mph. the wind drove
wind chills down into the mid twenties, and a low wind
chill of 18º.
Even when I checked other stations on the island
they all reported lows less than or equal to 30º, like
27º, 30º, 24º. My overnight lows were warmer than NYC
(37º) for the fourth time this fall (not suposed to
happen on clear nights).
I hope no one else has had to deal with as many
forcasts that were way off as me, but I know we all
have. Better luck next time with the forcast.
