LILI INFO:
http://www.weathermatrix.net/tropical/2002/storm.php3?storm=13

I'm going to hopefully find and add a few more webcams to our webcams
pages this morning.

Lili's winds have weakened from a staggering 145 mph last night to 120
this morning as the storm looks at landfall within the next few hours.
The storm no longer has an eye on satellite. It is now showing up on
radar.

As mentioned below, wind gusts to hurricane force have occured
offshore. On land, winds are not very impressive yet. 31 gusting to 39
knots at New Orleans.

AWS stations reporting gusts to 42mph.

As NHC mentions below, Southwest Pass has gusted to 81mph but gusts only
to 50 knots are showing up on the NDBC website:
http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.phtml?station=BURL1
Nor is the 79mph gust from Grand Isle showing up yet:

I think they are having website problems like they were last night, when
I thought we had seen the last observation from buoy 42001:

South Marsh has not reported since Sept. 30th

FROM THE NHC:

...LILI WEAKER BUT STILL DANGEROUS... EXPECTED TO MAKE LANDFALL LATER
THIS MORNING... A TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM EAST OF
THE MOUTH OF
THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER TO THE ALABAMA/FLORIDA BORDER...INCLUDING NEW
ORLEANS AND LAKE PONTCHARTRAIN... HURRICANE FORCE

LOUISIANA. SOUTHWEST PASS...NEAR THE MOUTH OF THE MISSISSIPPI
RIVER...RECENTLY REPORTED A WIND GUST TO 81 MPH...AND GRAND ISLE

AS LILI MOVES OVER LAND...PEOPLE IN THE PATH OF THE HURRICANE ARE
CAUTIONED NOT TO VENTURE OUTSIDE DURING THE RELATIVE CALM OF THE
EYE...BECAUSE WINDS WILL INCREASE SUDDENLY FROM THE OPPOSITE
DIRECTION. HURRICANE FORCE
