[STORMREPORTS] Isidore: Buoy in the Eye, Huge Range of Storm's Effects

To give you an idea how big this storm is, when it was 1400 miles from
Pennsylvania this afternoon, Flood Watches went up for most of the
state. Even though the storm is still offshore, clouds made it to Maine
this evening, causing halos and sun-dogs here at WeatherMatrix HQ in
Central Pennsylvania this morning. Rain is already as far north as the
Pennsylvania southern border at 9pm. Most of the Gulf of Mexico has been
filled with 15-20 foot waves and 30-40 knot winds today. One of the buoys
in the Gulf is currently in the eye of Tropical Storm Isidore and is
reporting steady pressure and much calmer winds.

Here is a Reuters News article:

"Tropical Storm Isidore Heads for U.S. Gulf Coast (Reuters)
Tropical Storm Isidore advanced on the U.S. Gulf Coast on Wednesday,
packing heavy rain and wind as Louisiana ordered evacuations affecting
16,000 people from low-lying communities and Alabama and Mississippi
readied for the tempest's arrival. In New Orleans, most of which sits a few
feet below sea level, pumps that keep the basin-like city from flooding
were running full-bore as a heavy rain fell and nonetheless caused minor
flooding. The airport remained open, but some airlines canceled flights. "
