Here's a better translation from Rafael:
Isidore nears Cuba with sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour
A slight shift towards the west, in Isidore's trajectory, appeared at 11:00
EDT, possibly due to a advancing cold front in the central South of the US.
The storm is erratic, on a west-northeast track, and it's forward speed
slowed to 13 kilometers per hour.
Isidore's center had it's center at 20.0°N and 81.2°W, about 225 kilometers
to the southeast of Isla de la Juventud, which it would reach during
Thursday night.
The storm strengthened during the last 3 hours. It now has maximum sustained
winds of 110 kilometers per hour, with higher gusts, and is almost a minimum
strength hurricane. It's minimum barometric pressure is 990 mb-29.23".
Hurricane strength winds extend 220 kilometers from it's center, especially
to the north and east.
Isidore brings considerable rain. 20 to 30 inches have fallen in Jamaica,
and serious flooding was reported from low laying areas.
Due to the storm's erratic track, it is still difficult to forecast it's
future trajectory. What appears certain is that Isla de La Juventud will be
seriously effected by the storm, the surrounding keys, as well as the
southern coasts of the provinces of Matanzas, La Habana and Pinar del Río.
The coast is being battered by violent waves and dangerous swells. Low
laying areas may be flooded.
Isidore's may make landfall near the extreme west of Pinar del Río, as it
exits to the Gulf of Mexico on Saturday.
But, there is little hope that this will lessen the storm's impact. It must
be remembered that it's strongest force is on the right, which is precisely
the edge that will pass over land.
Isidore not only has hurricane strength winds, but a great deal of rain, a
really dangerous combination.
