[STORMREPORTS] nw va: Hanna's inland, where's the rain?

Winchester, VA

Tropical Storm Hanna, after being inland 36 hours have dropped some
moderate rain totals, but nothing very heavy away from the coast.

Waves at Panama City Beach, FL increase as 50mph TS Hanna moves ashore.
Landfall was about 125 miles west, at Mobile AL. around 11am Sat. Mike
Seidel gets the on locaction assignment.

evening shows the heaviest rain along/just offshore the FL panhandle.
Another area of heavy rain is in the NE GA region.

Again from http://pro.accuweather.com : 24 hour rain rates in the
southeast. Although the heaviest rain is shown in S GA, most of the fell
early in the day. North of that region, scattered amounts of 1-2" were
noted.

I checked the AWS system Sat night before the reset they for the day, &
found a few gusts & rainfall amonts of note:

Washington Co Public Library, Tallahasse FL, 6.11" including a peak rain
rate of 3.76". Other Tallahasse stations measured PWG's of in the mid
30's mph. Rain totals were 1.35 to 3"
 
Elsewhere in the FL panhandle, winds gusts over 40mph were common. The
highest PWG was 51 mph at Choctawhatchee HS in Ft Waldon Beach FL.

Two stations had rains in the 2" range, and Desten Middle School had
4.23".

(late Sat evening)
"NW Fld" radar site: 12.6" max (offshore) and 5-6" in pockets in the
panhandle.

Tallahassee FL: 16.20" with 8-10" amounts common near Tallahasee.

Moody AFB: 7.9", near Tallahasse.

Below are as late Sunday evening:
6.3" were shown near Greeneville SC radar site.

VA radar storm totals:

Balt/Wash: 1to 2" common S & E of Washington DC. Max rain 3.7"

Norfolk: 1 to 2.5" common between Rocky Mount & MD eastern shore; Max
rain 5.9" near Greeneville NC

Ronoake: 1 to 2" sw of Ronoake, wax a max of 2.3".

Here in Winchester, a mere .19" of rain on Sunday. The cold front
arrival now has been delayed again. It's eta is now noon Monday. The low
was 69, the high 74. PWG Sunday was 8mph
