Hidi-ho good neighbors. Greetings from the high desert of the Mid Atlantic.
The powers that be forecasted "tropical downpours" from the remnants of Hanna
and an approaching cold front here in Northern Maryland. The extreme drought
gobbled up the precipitation from Hanna and the cold front. The tropical
downpours deposited 0.05 inches of rain over my homestead in the hills. All
is over but the shouting now as any remaining precipitation is drying up or
moving to the East. So far in September my station has had 0.21 inches of
precipitation. I am 8.87 inches below average precipitation wise for the
year, 45.08 inches below average since the drought began in July 1998. Such
is life.
