Northeast Georgia has experienced some decent rainfall over the last few
days. Summarized below are the total for each day, as well as the total for
the 3 day period at my location near Tallulah Falls, Ga. For more
information, see my site at www.georgiawx.net .
9-13-02 - .75"
9-14-02 - 3.28"
9-15-02 - .70" (still raining at 9:10 A.M. ET)
3 day total: 4.73"
This precip in my area is greatly enhanced by the terrain. There is a pretty
abrupt rise in terrain to my Southeast, and the winds from that direction
combined with the terrain enhances the precip. We have gotten more rain than
was expected here in Northeast Georgia, and we welcome every .01" we can
get! I will report later today on what will likely be close to final
amounts.
As of 9:10 A.M. this morning, my friend in Boonescreek, SC has recorded
3.58" of welcomed rain. His area is in worse shape than mine as far as
drought is concerned. You can check his website out at www.boonescreekwx.net
for more details.
