--August 21, 2002, was the twenty-fourth consecutive day that no
measurable precipitation has fallen at the Philadelphia
International
Airport in Pennsylvania. This is one day short of tying
the summer
season record, from August 1 through August 25 in 1972,
and five days
short of tying the all-time record of 29 days, set
during the fall of
1874. While no measurable precipitation has fallen at
the
Philadelphia International Airport since 0.07 of an inch
fell on July
28, it has rained twice at the Northeast Philadelphia
Airport on
August 2 (0.70 of an inch) and on August 20 (0.30 of an
inch).
