"The eastern section of Cary was hit hard around 4 p.m. Monday, as
strong
  winds knocked down trees and power lines.

  Authorities also say that the roof at Carolina Custom Golf partially
collapsed.

  At the height of the storm CP&L said 7,000 customers were without
power.
  Crews worked throughout the afternoon to quickly restore power.

  Authorities believe a lightning strike is to blame for a house fire at
Cricket Field
  Lane. There were also reports of damage at South Hills Mall and Cary
Towne
  Center."
