The following is from the Associated Press.

"TOKYO - Typhoon Phanfone skirted the coast of Japan's main island Monday,
dumping heavy rain that disrupted ferry and flight schedules. The storm
was moving northeast over the Pacific Ocean just south of the Tokyo area,
and was not expected to hit the mainland. Some areas, however, could still
expect as much as 250 millimeters (10 inches) of rain over the course of
the day, the agency warned."
