We reached a new record high temperature today at WeatherMatrix HQ in State
College PA. Our high was 98 and the heat index was 106. The previous high
temperature record was 97 on August 8, 1998.

This marks at least our 7th day over 94 degrees this summer; prior to that,
it had only been over 94 on two days in the period of record.

The period of record for this station is August 1997 - August 2002.
