"Spears took the stag(7/30/02, 6 p.m. ET) -- Britney Spears endedher final
show of her Dream Within A Dream Tour about 35 minutes into her performance
due to a severe lightning storm, according to a statement issued by her
label, Jive Records.

Spears took the staage at Foro Sol in Mexico City on Sunday (July 28)
during a break between rain storms. It was later determined that the risk
of getting shocked by the dangerous lightning from a fast approaching storm
was too great to put Spears, her stage crew, and the large audience in the
outdoor stadium in harm's way. In addition, the storm caused 300 robotic
lights and pyrotechnics used in Spears's stage production to malfunction."
