DHAKA, Bangladesh - A swollen river broke through an embankment Saturday
and swamped more than 200 villages in Bangladesh, where an outbreak of
waterborne diseases has pushed the death toll from recent flooding to 57.
Two weeks of flooding have so far affected nearly 1.5 million people in
Bangladesh, causing widespread damage to homes, roads, crops and livestock.
