[STORMREPORTS] SEVERE THUNDERSTORM IN MAINE/Western NEW BRUNSWICK

From: Matt Higgs (mattongm{at}hotmail.com)
Date: Tue Jul 02 2002 - 07:28:25 EDT

Experianced a direct hit with a severe storm this morning. A line formed and
passed directly over head. Thahts about all I know...the Maine radar in
Hodgdon was knocked out due to a power failure. We had frequent lightning,
22 MPH wind gust, and at the latest count, 1.78" of rain. The lightning
produced several power surges, and made the phone ring at least once. I was
on the phone most of the morning keeping radarless TV stations and the NWS
updated with current conditions. The thunder and lightning woke me up at 3:30
am, and it was non stop til about 7:20 am, so we got hit with several cells.
