Hailstorm batters southern Russian republic, more flooding expected in the
region (Associated Press)

A southern Russian republic, already struggling to overcome heavy flooding,
was battered by golf ball-sized hail that damaged more than 1,000 homes,
and other republics braced for more severe weather Thursday.
