------
A pair of short lived thunderstorms devolped south of Front Royal
(5:50pm), and along VA 55 (Frederick Co/Shenandoah Co) at 6:15pm.
The 2nd Thunderstorm produced tree damage in the Strasburg area. As a
result, the NWS issued the state's only Severe Thunderstorm Warning of
the day, from about 6:30pm, & it was cancelled about 6:50pm.
The Storm produced rain rates of 1.4 to 1.7" per hour, and a few totals
near 1", but they did not reach my location.
The dewpoint did soar 74º when they storms got as close as 7 miles.
The heaviest cell was about 14 miles southwest of my location.
((The image is produced by http://www.my-cast.com/ . It features a
custumized e-mail & weather site for up to 5 seperate locations. It is
the best source for looping, closeup visible satellite pictures & (as
close as 90 miles wide). Radar loops are also good, & they have a storm
warning alert also, both by e-mail & at the website. And best of all,
it's free! ))

No cause on the blaze has been determined. However in this vidcap,
lightning stikes a ridge several miles away.
