Jordanian heat wave kills three, sparks grass fires (Associated Press)

"A four-day heat wave has killed three Jordanians and sparked grass
fires throughout the parched Arab kingdom, a government official said on
Tuesday.

Meteorology Department director Haitham Shaer temperatures reached 48 C
(118 F) in the
Jordan Valley and Dead Sea areas and 38 C (100.4 F) in the capital,
Amman, during the four days."
