Hello everyone...
I've been real busy the last few months, and haven't been on the WWW
much. I'll be doing occasional reports for the time being.
Friday was highlighted by the SPC as a "slight risk" of severe wx in
the northeast US. Widespread wind & hail damage was noted by TWC from OH
into southern New England.
The largest incident was Kennywood Amusement Park, outside Pittsburgh.
Winds there tore down a pavilion, killing a lady & injuring about 54
others.

We were placed on the southwest edge of a severe t-storm watch from 5 to
11pm. By the time the PA storms crossed the Mason Dixon, line, they had
weakened quite a bit. I heard only 3 rumbles of thunder.
Friday afternoon was the hottest in 6 weeks. My high was 88º, after a
balmy am low of 66º. The thundershowers produced a mere .05" of rain &
a 17mph PWG between 10:15 and 11:15pm.
While dry(er) air is due later today, it is still a muggy night, with
the temp at 2:45am still holding at 71º, and a TD of 66.
Until next time...
Steve Minghini
