There is a flood warning for Centre County, home of WeatherMatrix HQ.
Unfortunately there was an unrelated, lenghty power outage on that side
of town this morning which knocked out all of our cameras and weather
stations and lightning detectors.

Doppler estimates now show 5" total from one storm and 3.5" per hour in
the southwest part of the county.

* AT 330 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
THUNDERSTORM WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL.

SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN THE
WARNED AREA. RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH
FLOODING IN THE SANDY RIDGE AREA. RADAR ESTIMATES OF 3 TO 4 INCHES
OF RAIN IN THE PAST HOUR HAVE BEEN OBSERVED NEAR SANDY RIDGE.
