Record Temperature Report for Temple, Texas
(60 miles N of Austin, Texas)
For Monday, May 20, 2002
The temperature at the local NWS reporting station in Waco, Texas (35 miles N)
dropped to 49 degrees this morning, tying the record low temperature for the
date that was originally set in 1981. This is the second morning in a row of
record low temperatures. The low at my station here in Temple this morning was
53 degrees.

Austin - 45 degrees - 53 degrees in 1952
San Antonio - 49 degrees - 52 degrees in 1952
Victoria - 53 degrees - 56 degrees in 1981
Corpus Christi - 57 degrees - 58 degrees in 1986
Galveston tied their record low temperature of 54 degrees that was originally
set in 1981. Houston also tied their record low of 54 degrees that was also
originally set in 1981. Houston also tied their low maximum temperature this
afternoon with 77 degrees. This record was originally set in 1958
