Record Temperature Report for Temple, Texas
(60 miles N of Austin, Texas)
For Sunday, May 20, 2002

The temperature at the local NWS reporting station in Waco, Texas (35 miles N)
dropped to 47 degrees this morning. This is a record low temperature for the
date, replacing the previous record of 50 degrees recorded in 1995. The low
temperature at my station here in Temple was 51 degrees.

Other record low temperatures from around the state:

Austin - 46 degrees - 54 degrees in 1968
College Station - 50 degrees - 54 degrees in 1976
Victoria - 54 degrees - 55 degrees in 1945
Galveston - 56 degrees - 60 degrees in 1886

Abilene tied their record low of 47 degrees originally set in 1995 and DFW
Airport tied their record low of 50 degrees originally set in 1983.
