At least 13 people were killed over the weekend from flooding during a
fierce tropical storm that battered Madagascar's east coast, officials
said Monday. Several people were killed when bridges collapsed in the
storm, local government officials said.

On Monday there was still no electricity or running water in the town. A
number of wooden homes and shops were swept away in the downpour.
