Folks here is a 24-hour state precipitation composite from the Missouri
area showing over 10" of rain.

http://wwwa.accuweather.com/adcbin/mosaic_radar.asp?nav=home&nxtype=24HR&type=still&getarea=MO_&btnget=1&partner=6037

At one point last night at 1Z the radar reported 7" in 3 hours over one spot.

Here is one of the local radar's storm totals from which that was drawn,
showing a wide area of >10" since May 5.
http://www.crh.noaa.gov/radar/latest/DS.80stp/si.keax.shtml
with a max one-point rainfall of 20.6".

Furthermore, this area is in the notorious "Radar Hole" of northern
missouri so rainfall estimates could be low.

All of this assumes no contamination of the estimates by hail; the radar
estimates aren't perfect and could be contaminated by hail.

Mutliple reports of flooding were received by the NWS:
http://iwin.nws.noaa.gov/iwin/mo/public.html

Here are reports from the Mississippi River, where rivers were near flood
stage last night at 9pm:

FS means Flood Stage:
MISSISSIPPI RIVER
  HANNIBAL 16 14.5
  LOUISIANA 15 14.8
  CLARKSVILLE 24 TW 25 25.6
  WINFIELD LD 25 TW 26 28.4
  GRAFTON 18 22.5
  ALTON LD 26 TW 21 23.9
  ST. LOUIS 30 28.3
  CHESTER 27 28.6

Record high streamflow was recorded for a number of sites in Missouri:
