Police: Floods and landslides killed 46 Kenyans in past two weeks
(Associated Press)
Landslides and floods caused by unusually heavy rain have killed 46 people
in the past two weeks and forced tens of thousands to flee their homes,
police said Wednesday.
The rains are the heaviest to hit the East African nation since 1997, when
rain caused by the weather phenomenon El Nino wreaked havoc across Kenya,
said Col. Bonventure Wendo, director of the government's National Disaster
Center.
