"Severe thunderstorms will develop over Ohio and western Pennsylvania
late this morning and early in the afternoon. These storms will move
into central Pennsylvania early this afternoon. The primary
threat from these storms will be strong and damaging wind gusts.
However...some storms will have the potential to produce large hail
and tornadoes. The peak threat time will be from mid afternoon to
early evening." --NWS CTP Central Penn.

"THE BEST TIME FOR SEVERE WEATHER IN EASTERN OHIO WILL BE THIS AFTERNOON.
FOR NORTHERN WEST VIRGINIA...WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA...AND FOR GARRETT COUNTY
MARYLAND THE MOSTLY LIKELY TIME FOR SEVERE WEATHER WOULD BE MID TO LATE
AFTERNOON INTO EARLY EVENING. " --NWS PIT Pittsburgh

Larry: "The worst of the thunderstorms will almost surely strike the area
from OH into DE, NJ, S NY. This stripe of territory includes such major
cities as Pittsburgh PA; Baltimore MD; Philadelphia PA; and New York NY.
Midlevel drying will aid in solar heating of the warm sector, so after a
very rainy, thundery morning a major severe weather threat is likely to be
present from about 12 N ET to 10 PM ET. Yes, it IS rare to be talking
tornadoes and excessive hail in this part of the world, but the conditions
present are fairly similar to what one would encounter during a visit to OK
or N TX in a storm chase. Since I have already outlined the where and why
to this convective risk in earlier newsletters, all that is left now is to
wish everyone residing in the target zone a safe Sunday."
