Part of Wayne County hit briefly by tornado (Akron Beacon Journal)

A tornado touched down in the northeast corner of Wayne County yesterday
afternoon, according to the National Weather Service office in
Cleveland. ``We just had a real strong signature on the radio, and the
Highway Patrol reported it to us,'' said Bill Randel, meteorologist.
``We're convinced it was a tornado.''
Randel said the tornado accompanied the thunderstorms that swept through
the area yesterday afternoon, hitting Doylestown and Stark County's
Lawrence Township particularly hard.
