Records once again are being set left and right in the East coast. Here in
the Philadelphia area, many places are in the middle 90s with an unofficial
report of up to 98 degrees in Center City, Philadelphia. The record at the
airport of 92 back in 1976 has already been smashed, with 95 being reported.
This also sets a new all-time temperature record for the month of April.
Normals for this time of year run in the lower 60s for highs so this puts us
some 35+ degrees above normal...absolutely incredible! Normal highs in July
even peak out in the mid 80s and here it is Mid-April and were 10 degrees
above normal for highs compared to July. When comparing to Havana Cuba, the
temperature is about 5 degrees warmer thanks to compressional heating off
the Appalachians.
