In Grand Rapids we ended up with 1.5 inches out of this entire snow (if you
can call it that) event. Areas south and west of us along the lake Michigan
shore have received about 5 to 8 inches though. This was due to lake effect
though and not the storms impact.

My condolences to Michigan. What started out as a 4-6 inch expected snowfall
in northern Illinois, then was changed to 1-2 inches, has produced 4 foot
drifts in open areas and approx. 3-4 inches (5 in some places near the
Wisconsin border) as of 0100 hrs on 12/27/02. This snow came in the form of
snow showers, some reducing visability to 1/4 mile, throughout the day and
evening. Flurries are only expected now as we are dropping into the lower
teens overnight with windy conditions.
