My condolences to Michigan. What started out as a 4-6 inch expected snowfall
in northern Illinois, then was changed to 1-2 inches, has produced 4 foot
drifts in open areas and approx. 3-4 inches (5 in some places near the
Wisconsin border) as of 0100 hrs on 12/27/02. This snow came in the form of
snow showers, some reducing visability to 1/4 mile, throughout the day and
evening. Flurries are only expected now as we are dropping into the lower
teens overnight with windy conditions.
