Cyclone Chris Hits Northwest Australia (Reuters)
One of the most severe cyclones to hit Australia crossed the sparsely
populated northwest coast early on Wednesday, Australia's Bureau of
Meteorology said.

Tropical Cyclone Chris was centered to the northwest of Australia, in the
southwest Indian Ocean, as of early Tuesday (Eastern Time). Winds are at
135 mph with gusts to 165 mph. Chris will likely make landfall near Port
Hedland on the northwest coast of Australia over the next 12-36 hours.
