Good Question. At this point in time I dont think coastal Maine will see a
direct hit..however..recent model runs have trended a bit further west with
the track of the surface low and the associated precip. Even were this not
the case..all of the models are consistent in deepening the surface low
quite a bit. At 24 hours..ETA is a good 2-6 mb deeper than NGM with a
surface low just off the coast at 965 mb while NGM is a tad bit higher in
the 969-972 range. The primary effect I see will come from the very strong
winds/onshore flow that may possibly result in some coastal flooding. And of
course considerable snow amounts in the higher elevations. Winds will likely
gust well over tropical storm force and probably exceed hurricane force at
times.
