[STORMREPORTS] Buffalo's White Christmas... None for VA

While only select areas will have a White Christmas, parts of the
Buffalo area have been socked in. From the AFD:

INTENSE LAKE BAND CONTINUES TO EDGE SLOWLY SOUTH AS IT SMOTHERS CITY AND
NEAR ERN AND NE SUBURBS THIS EVENING. BAND HAS CONSOLIDATED TO A NARROW
5 MILES WIDE...BUT SNOWFALL RATES OF 3 TO 5 INCHES PER HOUR HAVE BEEN
REPORTED HERE AT AIRPORT LAST FEW HOURS WITH OVER A FOOT SINCE 5 PM!!

EXPECT BAND TO DRIFT NORTH AGAIN XMAS DAY WILL GO 6 TO 10 MORE AND
ADJUST STORM TOTALS TO 20 OR 30 DEPENDING ON COUNTY. 
MAJOR EQUIP PROBLEMS HERE TONIGHT AS WE HAVE LOST SATELLITE FEEDS A
COUPLE TIMES DUE TO SNOW ON OUR DISH...MET STAFF OUT CLEANING DISH

Here in Winchester (nw VA), a clear cool night. Temp a seasonal 27.5º
at 2am. Season's first Artic plunge to bring daytime temps to near
freezing, & will bring low temps down into the teens later this week. No
snow in our forecast. Local AFD issued at 1:30am suggested a weak low
will pass SE of the region Thursday, & far enough away snow won't fall
in the region. But the confidence factor for the period was rather low.

Sorry i have not filed regular reports in the last few months. A variety
of factors, & on top, the lack of time for reporting. I am unsure when i
will return to nightly reports.
