Further to my other posting earlier today... the Mongolian anticyclone

still strengthening; if it continues to build, it might threaten the

record of 1083.8 mb (32.01 in.) sea-level pressure recorded at Agata,
Siberia on 31 December 1968. At 1800Z today, S/L pressure was 1081.7 mb
(
31.95 in.) at WMO station 44230, Tarialan, Mongolia, according to their
SYNOP observation.
