At 2:53 p.m. I recorded a high temperature of 62 degrees. This breaks the previous record high of 47 in 1996 & 1999.
At 3:59 p.m. the wind gusted to 61 MPH here at 536 Oak Street in Newcomerstown 1S. This eclipsed the previous record high wind gust of 52 MPH which was established on December 12'th, 2000 and January 10'th 2000.
Winds have gusted to 50+ MPH at least five times today that I have personally observed. The speeds with times are as follows......
51 {at} 3:43 p.m.
52 {at} 3:55 p.m.
54 {at} 3:58 p.m.
55 {at} 3:58 p.m.
61 {at} 3:59 p.m.
I'm lucky that I've been able to get this report typed and sent because the power went out three or four times between 3:30 and 4 p.m. An active day thus far. I'll keep an eye on the anemometor. Any other high wind readings anyone would like to share?
