With only .05" of precip recorded here in Asheville
since Sept 24th, the dry conditions have led to
numerous fires in the Southern Appalachians. Dense
smoke is hanging low to the surface here in Asheville,
and is making breathing and driving difficult. The
smell is everywhere, and the automated fog warning
signs on I-40 are lit up with smoke warnings for poor
visibility. It is even mentioned in our forecast,
which I'm not sure I've seen before...
