Hi all,
as mentioned one day before, we had some interesting
weather on FRI...
First, a storm system moving trough FRI night brought
us some strong winds and heavy showers, locally
accompanied by soft hail; temperatures were still ild
with 8-9°C all night long.Peak gust measured in the
region 70-80km/h
Then, after the cold front has moved trough, we were
on for more stormy weather in the afternoon with a
back-bent occlusion which had the first squall of mP
air behind it...
result: strong showers, local thunderstorms along with
small hail and wind peaks up to 90km/h, even more
(110km/h along the dutch coast.
A stronger tstm in nwrn Germany produced hail with
1-3cm in diameter and a weak (F1) tornado near
Osnabrück with estimated damage of 400.000 DM
(+-190.000 $)
It was the 3rd tornado in this area since the first
struck on AUG 6th, also rated as an F1/T2
Greetings from Belgium,
Lars
