Heavy rain and thunderstorms contributed to a series
of flash floods across southern Mexico's state of
Chiapas. At least four people were reported dead and
seventeen people are missing. Several dozen mountain
villages remain cut off from surrounding communities
due to rising flood waters and mudslides.
