Tornado destroys 32 houses in southern Philippines

COTABATO, Philippines, Sept 6 (AFP) - A tornado destroyed 32 houses and
uprooted trees in the southern Philippines town of Pikit but there were
no casualties, local officials said Thursday. Accompanied by hail and
torrential rain, the twister hit the town in the southern island of
Mindanao late Wednesday, destroying crops, pulling up coconut and mango
trees and sending scores of people fleeing for their lives. "It's
worse than the war because we cannot run for cover," said parish priest
