Several sinkholes discovered in Spring HillSPRING HILL - Hernando county
emergency management officials have closed Mariner Blvd. between Maderia and
Claymore Streets where several sinkholes have opened.So far 9 sinkholes have
been discovered, the largest one is about 45 feet deep in a retention pond.
Others are threatening nearby homes. Two children were in a home that started
cracking and crumbling around them.The Red Cross has a shelter on "stand by"
to help those affected by the sinkholes. It's located at the Knights of
Columbus, 10470 Spring Hill Dr, Spring Hill. The phone number for Red Cross
in Hernando County is (352) 564-8455.
