The National Weather service office in Mount Holly, NJ has confirmed
an F1 tornado touched down yesterday in Saylorsburg, Monroe county,
Pennsylvania. The tornado knocked down trees and powerlines and
damamged nine mobile homes. This tornado was dropped by a storm which
developed out and ahead of the line associated with a cold front
which caused widespread wind damage across the Mid-Atlantic. It even
dropped hail up to 2 inches.
Yesterday we were measuring a heat index in Philadelphia, but now we
are measuring the wind chill! High temperatures went from the 90s to
the 70s. A chilly day with a brisk northwest wind.
