Northwest Airlines Minneapolis Operations Affected by Severe
Thunderstorms and Hail Carrier Issues a Weather Waiver for Customers
with Scheduled Travel on June 11 and 12

MINNEAPOLIS, Jun 11, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Northwest Airlines
(Nasdaq: NWAC) today confirmed its operations were affected by severe
thunderstorms and hail which hit the Minneapolis/St. Paul International
Airport at approximately 5 p.m. Central Daylight Time. As many as 42
aircraft were on the ground at the time of the storm. Northwest will be
evaluating each aircraft for hail damage.
