Winchester VA

I did not post Wed night because Yahoo! was too slow, & was too tired
Thur night. The weather here has been hazy & warm the last few days;
with moderate humidity on Fri. Scattered cumulus each day, but
unfortunately, no rain here, (Fri was the 17th day with no real rain.)

Rain was confined, generally, to the mountains of WV, reaching to within
40 miles Wed, & 60 miles Thur. The nearest storm Friday was SSE by 40
miles near Warrenton on US17 off I-66.

Here is a story on the extension of the VA fire season.

Radar Anomaly
Another radar anomaly to consider: 2pm Thur, LWX aka Sterling and
Washington: Radar in "clear air", temp mid 80s generally, with DP's
55-60º, no rain (yet) & none widespread since 4/17, pollen counts well
into the 100s near the city, about 1000 here; AQI moderate to moderately
unhealthy. L/V wind

My thinking Pollen & pollution, combined

Also, for those wondering why Yahoo! Groups was several to 12 hours late
from Tue until Thur, this was posted by them on some servers Wednesday:
Yesterday morning, we had some network issues involving our service. On
top of this, we had problems with both our mail processing machines and
four of our archive servers (which led to sporadic 'archive temporarily
unavailable' messages for groups on those machines).   These
problems resulted in a mail backlog that's continuing today.
