Drought conditions continue across the Sunshine State. Two weeks have passed
since the last significant rains here in west central and Southwest Florida.
Wildfires have again to pop up across the drier sections of the state. The
biggest was in Polk County but it has now been contained and has nearly been
extinguished. Still the threat still exists for more fires as April is
normally the driest month in Florida and this April is no different. For more
information on the Florida drought go to the drought index map attached or to
the Tampa Bay NWS office via my website. Just click the colored map and then
go to Tampa.
