Our Cape Coral-Fort Myers weather forecast for today includes thunderstorms tonight. We have heavy clouds and 75 degrees F at the moment (8:41pm). When I arrived home, I found 0.5 inches of rainfall
in my rain guage. This is from a downpour which probably occurred between 5 and 7 pm. This is good news having added rainfall on top of our recent totals; drought conditions have been materially alleviated, and fire index numbers have dropped into the 300's (down from the high 600's).. It appears that more will arrive tonight. Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte had dark clouds moving in when I left work there at 7pm but no rain had fallen at that time. It will not be long for the normal rainy season to kick in gear. Richard Macomber - Cape Coral (Lee County), FL.
