Winchester VA
The NWS called for cloudy skies, a 50% POP of showers, & a high of about
55º on Tuesday here. Satellite photos showed little cloud cover in the
northern of VA, westward only to the Ohio River early in the morning.
A heavy cloud deck, with light rain, did cover the southern half of VA,
but was moving ESE.
I seriously doubted the forecast here.

southern VA, a cold front in PA, & FW cumulus over the WV & MD

With about 2/3 of possible sunlight Tuesday, & a south wind, the
temperatures skyrocketed in Northern VA. This map shows 4pm temps, with
61º at Washington's Dulles & Reagan National Airports as well as
nearby Martinsburg WV.
Chilly readings included 43 in Hot Springs & 48º at Charlottesville.
Several southside stations (Ronoake, Lynchburg, Richmond) were at 52º.

The cloud cover below did not arrive to evening. Daytime cloud cover was
about 35%, but generally did not affect the sunlight. The heavier clouds
arrived about 4pm, & the sky clouded over about 7pm.

The low was 33.8º (7:15am) & the high was 64.8º (3:41pm). The PWG
was 24mph (8:46pm). The low windchill of 26 was at 10:48pm. The cold
front knocked evening temps down to 46 at 11pm.
The local pollen count was 25, for trees.
These tulips have been waiting for some warm weather to do their thing.
Temps will be near 60 today & Thur, rise into the 60s Fri & Sat, & into
the 70s for Sun & Monday.
