Storms that traveled through North Carolina dropped several inches of
rain throughout the central North Carolina. I observed rivers and
streams beginning to rise and will be reported overflowing their banks
sometime today. Large hail was observed in Cumberland and Harnet
Counties. While traveling through Fayettville area, I observed a 20"
high, 100" long concrete block wall had been blown over from a
downburst, several large signs were blown over and debris scattered the
streets and yards. There were also reports of trees down and one
landing on a residential home.
We did receive several sightings of tornadic active clouds and a
reported Tornado in Swansboro, NC, but I missed the opportunity of
visual sighting by two many miles.
