Rainfall for previous month
A state of emergency was declared for the flood affected Victoria River
District, in northwest NT, and the Gulf country, with some remote communities
having to be evacuated to Katherine. In the Gulf about the NT/Qld border an
area of highest on record occurred with monthly totals up to 800mm. During
the second half of the month the monsoon trough overlay this area with
Tropical Cyclones Wylva and Abigail tracking through the area.
